Urban Wellness Float - COVID-19 update, precautions and Float safety

We have put this post together in light of the recent COVID situation.

COVID-19 update, precautions and float safety

Our number one priority is the health and safety of our team and everyone that Floats with us. We already place massive importance on cleaning and hygiene in our efforts to provide the best possible experience and we are now even more focused in this area.

Is floating safe during this time?

The short answer is yes.

The sanitisation and cleaning that happens within the float room, offers fivefold protection; provided by the oxidizer (H2O2), high turnover 1 Micron filtration, Bromine steriliser, AOP effect and the added benefit of the supersaturated salt concentration all working together to provide a clean and safe environment.

“The virus…is not spread in water, such as float water.” Dr. Roy Vore, Microbiologist

“There is no evidence that COVID-19 can be spread to humans through the use of pools and hot tubs.” Centres for Disease Control and Prevention

What precautions are we taking?

We already employ best-in-class cleaning procedures in our effort to be the most hygienic float centre in the UK. We’re redoubling our efforts in this area. In addition:

  • We are taking on board all guidance from the authorities.

  • We are using anti-bacterial solution on all surfaces throughout the Hub.

  • We have anti-bacterial hand sanitiser in the Hub for your use.

  • Before and after all Floats - all hard surfaces within the Float Suite are sanitised using a non-toxic, anti-bacteriological cleaning spray.

  • We have always used this spray on the Float Room door handles, waiting area door handles, the shower and screen plus dispensers and clothes hooks.

  • We have extended this cleaning regime to include the wet-floor area, stools and wet walls.

  • We have removed all paper paraphernalia from the chill-out area.

  • We have introduced recyclable paper cups for water, replacing our plastic tumblers.

  • You will notice all Hub hosts will be wearing plastic gloves, changing them before and after your visit.

  • You will now receive your biodegradable ear plugs before entering the Float Room.

  • We have added hand wash guidelines above every wash basin

  • Our team will continue to follow the advice and will react accordingly to the advice we are given from the Government.

Please note: We will honour any Float Gift vouchers that you hold from us, with an expiry date in March – through to the end of this crisis.

Whilst our Float Room currently remain open, you may also wish to check out our website for up to date information.
